I have never been one to worry about what I put on my body or the products that I used around my home, but I quickly learned that having a baby changes the way you think about many things. What would normally be okay for me to use was not good enough for my baby girl. I started researching and tried to purchase the safest products for her. On this journey I got rid of a lot of cleaners that I thought were safer and switched to The Honest Company cleaning products.
My research on buying safe products made me take a look at what I was putting directly on my skin. My first personal switch I made was to Native Deodorant. I was very skeptical before trying it, but I was quickly hooked (plus the coconut & vanilla smells amazing).
I have really been convicted these past few months to think about what I was using in my daily skincare/makeup routine. To be honest I have been more concerned with my new problematic skin that came along with my baby and have been trying to find things that won't irritate it. I looked up my favorite foundation on the Think Dirty App and was sad to find out that it scored a 10 and was full of hormone disrupters.
I was first introduced to Beautycounter products at a friends party. I purchased a few things for Lucy and won the balancing charcoal mask. After several uses of the mask I was hooked and starting trying more products. My favorite has been the brightening facial oil. The thought of putting oil on my face just felt wrong but this stuff is amazing and exactly what my skin needed. I also love keeping the sunscreen stick in my diaper bag. I love that it is in a stick and not greasy or messy at all and protects Lucy when she is playing outdoors. She loves that she can help apply it herself.
The more products I try the more I fall in love with this company and its mission "To get safer products into the hands of everyone." I am so excited about these products and have decided to be a part of this movement for safer products. I am looking forward to integrating safer products into my home and skincare routine. I promise I am not about to throw everything in my house away and have several products that I don't think I could ever part with, but I am excited to mix in some safer products into our home and slowly move in the right direction.
I am looking forward to trying more Beautycounter products and will keep you guys posted on what I think about them. Let me know if you have any questions about anything. To shop all Beautycounter products head here. I encourage you to look into exploring safer products for your family.
